Young adults (Non-Minor Dependents/NMD) who are 18-21 years old and who were in out of-home placement one day past their 16th birthday are eligible.

Youth will benefit from assistance with obtaining and maintaining safe, stable, and affordable housing. THP will provide:

• Share of Cost for rent/bills
• Assistance with budgeting & financial planning
• Housing Options prior to discharge
• Aid for Youth's emancipation savings account

Youth will have access to resources such as, an Education & Employment Specialist and outside resources to help further their education and employment goals.

Assistance with Employment include:

• Linkage to Ready-to-Work Programs
• Assistance with interview clothing
• Referrals for training and internships
• Computer access for job searches, applications, and preparing resumes

Assistance with Education include:

• Filing out financial aid forms
• Enrollment in GED prep classes, colleges, universities, and vocational schools
• Seeking grants and scholarships
• Exploring careers Connecting with programs on campus like EOPS, Guardian Scholars, etc.

Youth will have access to mental health therapists, art & equine therapy, Evolution Coaches, emergency crisis services available 24/7. Youth are offered individualized treatment planning to help overcome the barriers hindering their success. They are guided by THP staff how to maintain and advocate for their medical & dental needs

Youth will have access to a wide variety of educational workshops on relevant and requested topics from your own peers:

• Budgeting, Finances, and Taxes
• Healthy Living, Cooking, and Nutrition
• Workforce Preparation
• Proud Parenting
• Landlord/Tenant Relations

A New Beginning For Me Transitional Housing Program is highly dedicated to providing outstanding services to Youth transitioning from foster care into adulthood.

A New Beginning For Me Transitional Housing Program for NMD’s serves 18-21-year-old youth, that are dependents of Children and Family Services. The program Provides stable and safe Homes fort youth transitioning into adulthood. We use Positive Youth Development and Trauma-Informed best practices in our approach with youth. Services include counseling, on-going case management, financial education, daily living skills, and the opportunity to integrate these skills while living on their own in the community with staff guidance.to Youth transitioning from foster care into adulthood.

Youth, who are involved in the state foster care system struggle with basic common life skills that most take for granted. When they turn 18, they enter the community with little to no support. Youth Service staff work on a daily basis to ensure that youth become productive adult citizens that are educated, employed, and connected to their community. When a young adult is placed in our program each individual is placed in a fully furnished Homes that is preferably located near their current place of employment or school. 

Each Homes is provided for the youth rent-free along with their utilities and stipends for groceries. 

Each NMD is assigned an Evolution Coach, which work tirelessly to make sure that the youth receive the support necessary for them to live successfully on their own. Our staff meets with each youth weekly and is available 24 hours a day for crisis support ANBFM believes that the extra support these exceptional young adults receive is what separates our program from others and leads to successful outcomes.
